What is the difference between certified and approved?

Certified

SKA Certified companies undergo regular Kosher audits led by trained Rabbinical Inspectors and are legally obligated to adhere to agreed-upon standards, suppliers and processes with the SKA. Some certified products display the SKA logo while others may choose not to. This is solely at the discretion of the certified company and in no way compromises the kosher certification provided by SKA.

Approved

Products approved by SKA are investigated by its Rabbinical and Food Technology staff through correspondence with the company in question covering ingredients, processing aids, and shared manufacturing equipment. When possible, it is preferable to choose products which have a valid Kosher certification.
